TECHNOLOGY FREE OSLT COURSE FOR NEWCOMERS HUMBER COLLEGE JUNE 2012

Hello - I have your email from earlier communications about Occupation-specific Language Training programs in technology at Humber College.

Tomorrow, on May 23, we are holding an information session about the upcoming Technology class at Humber (June 28 to Aug. 31). See the attached flyers for the program. If you would like to attend this information session regarding the June class, please let me know. It will take place at 1:30 at 1620 Albion Road - in the Humber Community Employment office at the west end of the mall - second floor.

If you wish to attend the information session, please let me know. You should bring copies of your resume, your citizenship status and any language testing results you have.

There will be another information session the following week on May 30 at Humber College if you cannot attend the session tomorrow.

FREE OSLT COURSE FOR NEWCOMERS
HUMBER COLLEGE JUNE 2012

What is OSLT?

Occupation-specific language training (OSLT) teaches work-related language skills and Canadian workplace culture to internationally trained professionals providing them with the skills they need to communicate effectively on the job in Canada. All OSLT graduates earn a Humber Certificate.

OSLT Technology is an intensive program for foreign-trained engineers, IT specialists and architects. This course provides the technical vocabulary and sector-specific knowledge of the Canadian workplace that the newcomer requires to enter into, and be successful, in their profession in Canada.

Who is Eligible?

You are eligible to participate in OSLT if you meet these criteria:

• You are a Permanent Resident or a Protected Person

• You have training and/or experience as an engineer, IT specialist or architect

• You have intermediate English skills (CLBA 6-8)

Course Dates: June 28, 2012 to August 31, 2012

Location: Humber North Campus
205 Humber College Blvd.
Toronto ON, M9W 5L7 (near Highway 27 and Finch Ave.)

Schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Uma terça feira na vida de um imigrante

05:30 – acordar e fazer alguns abdominais para não maltratar a coluna

Banho; café da manhã; preparer almoço para levar para o trabalho, fazer mamadeiras, acordar as meninas, marido reclamando que eu não ajudo o suficiente de manhã com as meninas e com as lancheiras delas (com razão)

07:30 sair de casa para o trabalho (sim, estou trabalhando. Estou devendo um post sobre esta benção que recebemos)

07:50 – 17:10 – trabalho

17:35 – chegar em casa atrasada, colocar todo mundo no carro e levar a baby sitter em casa poise la está atrasada para seu outro emprego devido ao meu atraso.

17:50 – passas na casa da amiguinha de balé da Vitória e levá-las para o balé

19:05 – entro em casa e começo a fazer o jantar.

Gabriela e Louise jantam; banho; escovar os dentes.

Vitória chega com sua amiguinha e a mãe dela. As meninas morrendo de fome.

Começo a fazer mais carne pois o que tinha pronto nao ia dar pras duas.

21:00 – amiguinha e sua mãe vão embora. E as meninas em geral ja estão sonhando neste horário.

Banho na Vitória, escovar os dentes de todo mundo outra vez.

21:30 – deito com a Louise na cama dela (como de costume)

22:30 – o marido chega do trabalho e me acorda.

Jantamos juntos e comecamos a limpar a cozinha.

24:05 – terminamos de arrumar “tudo” e subimos para tomar banho e dormir

Eu aproveito para ler algumas linhas de um livro antes de apagar na cama.

05:30 de hoje – começamos tudo de novo … rsrrss!!! Kkkkk! Snif snif!

* uma clara imagem de como temos culturas diferentes. Enquanto queremos montar piscinas para que nossos filhos aproveitem o verão tem gente que monta rink de patinação particular para o mesmo objetivo, só que no inverno. :-)
