Session 2: Canadian Citizenship from 11 am to 12 noon

2.    Child Care subsidy in Halton. Friday, March 20th, 2015 from 10 am to 11:30 am. This session will be presented by Mistie Pelastik from the Halton Region. See attached flyer for more details.

Café com Letras abre 2015 com palestra sobre como criar filhos com uma atitude saudável em relação à sexualidade

Sexualidade Infantil é um tema de interesse para muitos pais. Na próxima edição do encontro Café com Letras, Valéria Sales vai falar sobre como, quando e o que falar sobre sexualidade infantil com os nossos filhos.
Valéria é fonoaudióloga com pós graduação em Psicomotricidade, e possui qualificação e experiência para orientar sobre como responder às perguntas das crianças no momento adequado. Ela trabalha há 14 anos no Centro Abrigo como conselheira e coordenadora do programa de voluntários e de avaliação dos serviços ao cliente. No Canadá, se formou em Assistência Social e Serviços Comunitários, e ministra programas e workshops sobre os mais variados temas ligados ao desenvolvimento infantil.
O próximo Café com Letras promete uma discussão interessante, que vai responder às dúvidas dos participantes de uma forma clara e objetiva.

Feira de Voluntariado - 25 de Setembro 2014

Want to help make a difference? Come out to the volunteer fair!
Are you looking to get involved in something positive? Do you want to help make a change in your community? Are you looking to enhance employment opportunities? Do you need to learn new skills and gain Canadian experience?
If any of these apply to you, then come join The Newcomer Information Centre’s free Volunteer Fair on Thursday, September 25, 2014! This is a good opportunity for anyone looking to obtain more information about volunteer opportunities in Halton Region.
This event is targeting newcomers and immigrants to Canada; however everyone is welcome to stop by and join in. This is a great chance to network, meet volunteer organizations, and get connected in the community!
Several organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Girl Guides of Canada, OSCR (Oakville Senior Citizens Residence) and Volunteer Halton, will be participating. They will have booths set up to provide clients with information, resources and volunteer opportunities.
The volunteer fair will be held from 10am until 12 noon on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at The Newcomer Information Centre, located at 171 Speers Rd, Suite 20, Oakville. If you want to volunteer but don’t know where to start, then come out to the volunteer fair and have all your questions answered!

2.    Resume Help: Writing a resume for the first time? Not sure if your resume is as effective as it could be? Learn how to write a resume for the Canadian job market.

3.    High School Ins and Outs for Newcomers: Learn what to expect from the Ontario Education system including the requirements to obtain your OSSD. Parents will learn how to support their teens in making decisions and how to stay involved.

Time: 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
