International Information Technology (IT) Professionals Enhanced Language Training (ELT) Program with Project Management and Bridge-to-Work

Summary of the program structure
Enhanced English language training all through the three-month program. This includes technical writing, business communication culture and vocabulary, telephone and presentation skills. Project Management training in class for the first six weeks. If applying for PMP exam, this meets the formal training requirement to attempt a certification exam from PMI – the Project Management Institute. There is also a requirement by PMI of actual project management experience. The following seven weeks provide experience in project management, project development and implementation. The projects will mostly be for not-for-profits.

Admission requirements:
International Information Technology trained professional
Legally qualified to be in Canada, not yet a Canadian Citizen.

LINC level 7 or above
IT Project related experience or strong project management background (little IT related experience will also be considered)

All participants will:
Be interviewed and assessed by an LEF panel
Attend a program overview and orientation
Be supported through out with job search strategies
Attend workshops related to the industry when applicable
Report to LEF ELT Coordinator and IT Manager on a weekly schedule
Participate in weekly ELT-IT Team Meetings
Be provided TTC tokens (if applicable)

July 06 to September 25, 2009
October 05 to December 25, 2009
January 04 to March 26, 2010
